Safe Walking

Safe Walking
This week Room 13 have been learning about safe walking
with Constable Gordon

Stop, look and listen
Before you cross the street.

Use your eyes, use your ears,
Before you use your feet.
Stand back from the curb

We have to keep looking and listening for cars when we are crossing the road.

We had great fun dressing up as Police Officers.
Room 13 also got to have a ride in Constable Gordon's cool police car!

Today we learnt all about sneaky driveways.

We must always
Stop, and have a look for cars.

Thank you Constable Gordon for teaching us how to keep safe when walking on the footpath and crossing the road.

Our Wall Story

Howick Historical Village

Howick Historical Village
Room 13 had a fabulous morning at Howick Historical Village. We went back in time to the 1800s. We played outside games, looked at the old toys, went to the school house and walked through some of the houses and shops.

Outside Games

Log Walkers

We played 'Graces" a popular game with boys and girls in the 1800s
Most of the games we played were made from wood

The School House

We had to write on slate

No writing with your left hand!

We had to bow and curtsey when we said 'Good morning" to the teachers.

Art of Aotearoa Exhibition
Room 13 went to the school hall to have a look at the fabulous artwork, done by the children at VAS.

Room 13 have been looking at the work of illustrator Elizabeth Fuller. She has brought to life the loveable bear in the stories by Diane Noonan. We have focused on blending and shading with coloured pencils to add texture and character to our bears.

Great Job Everyone!
